Set-ups

A guitar that fights you is a guitar you won't play. Acoustic or electric, let's get yours feeling easy again โ€” so playing is a pleasure, not a battle.

Spugs giving an honest opinion

An honest opinion, always

Not sure what yours needs? Bring it along and I'll tell you honestly what it does โ€” and doesn't โ€” need. After 50 years of playing and tinkering, I'd rather point you the right way than sell you work you don't need.

Spugs setting up a starter guitar

Learning with me? Your guitar's sorted

If you're taking lessons, keeping your guitar playing its best is part of the deal โ€” and I can supply a starter instrument, hand-set-up so it plays easy from day one. The right, well-adjusted guitar is one of the biggest reasons beginners stick with it.

Bits & bobs, in stock

I keep a small stock of guitar equipment and accessories for my students โ€” strings, picks, straps, capos and the odds and ends you always seem to run out of. So when a string snaps or you fancy trying a different gauge, you can grab one at your lesson instead of waiting on a delivery. Just ask.
